Adidas Adios Boost 2

came into Fleet Feet in West Hartford CT rocking a pair of lime green and blk Asics Gel Lyte33 3 which I've recently become a fan of.  But, I was in search of the  Boston Boost 5 after reading the reviews in Runners World Magazine.  I've run in previous versions of the Boston and liked the fit and also tried the original Boost, but wasn't happy with the tech fit upper.

To my surprise the Boston Boost wasn't due out until September.  Decisions decisions.  No Boston, Now what? They did have the Adios Boost which came in a vibrant orange trimmed in grey.  I like bright so I was willing to give the shoe a try.

Catlin at Fleet Feet was awesome, she helped guide me through the process.  While waiting for Catlin to return, I checked out the the Kinvara 5 which also came in a bright flashy color but it looked a bit cheesy to me.

Catlin returned with a surprise that wasn't posted on the wall.  The surprise came with a disclaimer-("I've gotta warn you it's a bland color, basic blue"). Tada!!

Adidas did a spectacular job with the fit. this is a working shoe that produces results.  I throughly enjoyed the fit and feel.  The Adios wrapped my arch nicely locking it in place while providing plenty of room in the toe box and for added measure kept the sturdy heel cup in place; one of the features I noticed lacking in the Kinvara's and Gel Lyte33 3. The sturdy heel cup offers additional support on longer runs when your form may breakdown.

Adidas returned to the use of the ultra suede material on the upper in addition to breathable mesh, propitiatory boost capsules in the midsole and continental rubber outsole for superior traction.

With several runs in the Adios Boost 2 this will be my go to shoe for tempo runs, and speed work.  The Adios is light fast and furious.  Finding my stride in the shoe was a breeze making it easy for me to pick up the pace during my runs.  The Adios wants to move you forward bringing you closer to your desired PR.

The Adios is fast record breaking shoe; it's the same shoe Patrick Makau broke the tape in 2:03:38 at the BMW Berlin Marathon, he chopped a whopping 21 seconds off Haile Gebrselassie’s barrier-breaking mark set in 2008.  While you and I may not be breaking any world records soon we can be on our way to setting PR.
